Stronghold

こんにちは!

I made this simple castle model as I have been watching Shadiversity's videos about castle structures, and decided to model one on the spot. Another influence I took from is the "Fortress" faction's castle design from Heroes III - Might and Magic.

I made a simple castle design this time due to time constraints as I am currently studying Nihongo at a Japanese Language School and maintaining high grades as much as possible. Nevertheless, I made time to make one new project regardless if it's not as detailed as my previous works.

I made the Keep on top of an elevated hill, while being surrounded by castle walls. I took this inspiration from the Motte and Bailey design where the keep is high on top of a hill.

I made this extension of the keep just in case the intruders were able to breach the gates. This is also the only entrance to the main Keep

This is what the space below the Kill Zone looks like, while showing the Main Keep's draw bridge, which is the only way to infiltrate inside.

For historical accuracy, I made machicolations as part of the castle wall crenellations. Machicolations are floor openings on top of the castle wall, supported by corbels (in this case, the crenellations are made of wood, as well as the machicolations)
